Something inside me has always been drawn to the field of mental health. As a child I sat in my home’s dusty attic and read through old psychology textbooks before I even really understood them. During high school, I read every behavioral health related book that I could get my hands on.  I majored in Psychology in college, but then decided to follow another career path. I've now come full circle by returning to the professional track I love and wholeheartedly believe I am meant to follow.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of New York. I have a B.S. in Psychology from Georgetown University, an M.S. in Biology from the University of Memphis and an M.S.W. from Adelphi University. During my MSW program, I received specialized training from my program's Institute for Trauma Treatment and Training.

I feel it is my responsibility to never stop learning more within my field.  Currently, I am in my fourth year of a four year postgraduate program in Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy at Adelphi University’s Derner School of Psychology.

Other certifications I have completed are:

-One Year Certificate in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy (Derner School of Psychology, Adelphi University)

-Interdisciplinary Postgraduate Certificate in the Fundamentals of Cognitive Behavioral Treatment

-National certification in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)

-Skills Training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

-Gottman Seven Principles Program Educator

-Level 1 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy

I am also a member of the American Psychological Association Society for Psychoanalysis and Psychoanalytic Psychology (Division 39), the American Association for Psychoanalysis in Clinical Social Work, the American Psychological Association and the National Association for Social Workers.

I am always happy to answer any questions about my qualifications and professional experience.
